Amissville Auxiliary Holds Oct. Meeting

The regular monthly business meeting of the Amissville Auxiliary to the V.F.D. was held Tuesday, October 12 at 8 p.m.

Twenty-nine members were present, including one new member, Mrs. Ivor Jacobs.

The financial report was read and it was decided that the auxiliary would donate to the Amissville V.F.D. $1200 to help pay for the new fire engine.

After some discussion concerning cleaning the hall it was decided to continue having it cleaned ' as it has been in the past. A group of members volunteered to see that the hall is heated for each meeting.

In the previous meeting, after a talk by Mrs. Edith Philips, the auxiliary voted to join the Northern Virginia Firemen’s Associa- , tion. -

The vice-president, Mrs. Virgie Bywaters, resigned and was replaced by Mrs. Mary D. Tapp.

Standing committees appointed were:

Food: Mrs. Edith Hackley, chairman; Mrs. Carol Hackley, Mrs. Lois Settle and Mrs. Hester Poe. Kitchen: Mrs. Charles Green, chairman; Mrs. Carl Weaver, Mrs. Elva Compton, Mrs. Myrtle Stover, Mrs. Mary Tapp.
