“Buck” Clatcr broke his leg Sunday afternoon when he slid into horjie plate to (five the Rappahannock Chiefs a tally against the Middletown A. C.’s in a game; on the A. C.’s diamond.
He was rushed to the Warren Memorial Hospital by the Middletown Rescue Squad. X-rays show- ■ ed a serious break, necessitating an operation. .«.
Buck underwent the operation Monday afternoon. According to his family, who make frequent visits to the hospital, he is recovering satisfactorily. He will be hospitalized for 2 weeks.
Buck, the Chiefs’ first string catcher, is known as a good safe hitter as well as a strong man behind the plate.
His friends wish him a speedy recovery and a “hurry home.”
