SLATE MILLS W M S PROGRAM CENTERS ON »WORLD ALLIANCE

The July meeting of the Women’s Missionary Society of Slate Mills Baptist Church was held Monday evening at the home of Mrs. R. J. Boyd with an attend‘ ance of nineteen. The devofiqnal scripture was read by Mrs. C. M. Ramey, and Mrs. Boyd, program chairman, presented the subject “All Roads Lead to London.” With colorful decorations of maps and flags of many nations, a background was given for the Baptist World Alliance which is holding its Golden Jubilee Congress in London, England, July 16-22, with representatives from 90 countfies expected to be in attendance. •

Letters were read from Miss Anne Dwyer of Rappahannock County, now a missionary nursp at Sterling Memorial Hospital in Gaza, Palestine. Miss Dwyer celebrated her birthday on July 8th, and the prayers and good wishes of her many friends and loyal supporters went out to her.

The Bingo Party held Friday night in the Washington Town Hall, netted $47.05 for the Ladies Auxiliary to the Washington Fire Company.
