Fire Accidents
On County Roads
the
p.m. Five accidents marred county roads between 4:10 and 11:45 p.m. Saturday n :ght. The first occurred on Merrill’* Corner in Washington, when two cars collided, a 1955 Ford Sedan, driven by Peggy Ann Blossjtr of Arlington, headed west, and a 1954 Hudson Club coupe, drive0 by Kenneth Vicotr Tusinjg of Falls Church, headed east, j The Tusing car ran across the center line and into the side of Miss Blosser’s vehicle. None jwere injured. There was approximjateiy $200 damage to the cars. Tiding was charged with reckless driving.
At 5 p.m. on Route 231, FT Road, around 2 miles south of Sperryville, Frank Harry Twyman of Washington, D.C., driving a 1952 Dodge, apparently fell asleep and went off the right |side of the road and hit the bridge abutment. The car was a tbtal loss. Twyman was admitted! to the Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal, with a broken flip, broken jaw and chest injuries.
About 4 miles east of Washington, on Route 211, George Courtland Hawkins, of Sperryville, driving a 1956 Chevrolet sedi apparently lost control of his (jar on a slight curve. The car care ed off the left side of the ro "tot a tteeirnd ended up with tp rear end in the ditch. The car wjas apparently a total loss. Hawkin was admitted to die Warren Mje morial Hospital with chest if juries and cuts and bruises on body and head. The two ers with him were unhurt. Hav i ins was charged with reckle driving. ,
