Production, usually up this time of the year, leveled off unexpectedly in November. This is due to cold weather, the number of old layers which have dwindled in production, and the lack of full quotas of younger layers to take up the slack.
Demand will surely Remain good, especially through the first of the year.
With production not showing usual seasonal increase, very cold weather in the egg producing areas might lower it enough to hold prices up. ~
- BROILERS I
The broilv market doesn’t promise any strength until well after •the holidays.
Prices generally were down a cent last week, and replacements indicate that supplies will continue to be around 20% above last year.
Evert with the end of the turkey rush in sight, processor demand for broilers probahly won’t increase much if any in the next week or so.
Storage demand will' probably be mild for awhile, too. There is a little‘s activity in it now. . Richmond markets averaged
