At current prices it s a good time to buy, but a word of warning is timely: Whether you’re buying farmer to farmer or through retail outlets, be sure you get tested seed. Don’t sacrifice quality for cheap price. Even the best seed this year* is lower priced than poor seed has been. The few cents extra over the cost of untested seed may mean plenty quality-wise.

Here are Virginia price comparisons (received by growers) between this year and last:

Nov. 15, 1954 and Nov. 15, 1955.

Korean Lespedeza $.21.50 cwt $700 cwt Kobe Lespedeza $22.50 cwt $10.00 . Sericea $23.00 cwt $12.00 Orchard grass $25.00 cwt $14.30 (Oct. 15)

The price trend since November has continued down.
