The Rappahannock Garden Club met in the home of Mrs. James Settle on January 25. It is to be regretted that so many of the members were either out of the county or were sick at this time for the program was most interesting. Mrs. Elvin Graves of Syria showed colored slides of pre-civil war homes in Natchez, Miss. Mrs. Graves had taken the pictures herself and related many stories she had been told regarding the homes during her visit to Natchez. Other slides were also shown including an apple orchard in Washington State.
Club members are reminded that the Art-mobile, showing Egyptian art, will be at Criglersville from February 9th to 14th. Mrs. Brown Miller is chairman of this project and anyone wishing further information! may call her.
ON THE WRITING OF A POEM
Mrs. A. M. Hickman states that she has received several compliments on the poem she read at the Firemen’s Banquet last week. She wishes to report that Mrs. B. R. Cox and Miss Mary Jenkins are responsible for the poem, and to them belong the laurels.
