Not Enough Money To Sand
Icy Roadt
A. C. Latham asked Resident Engineer P. D. Coldiron if his workers could not put sand on the dirt roads, in the case of icy weather. Mr. Coldiron, though agreeing to the need of such work, said that he Sad to stick to the policy of not sanding the roads. It would amount to an enormous expenditure,, for which no funds are allocated. He could, however, add stone, etc., where money for construction or improvement was already scheduled, and this would be a step in the direction of permanent repair. Otherwise, he could not sand the dirt roads. 15 Extra Days In Hunting Season

Supervisor Herbert Foster stated that due to the fact that Rappahannock's hunting season is 15 days longer than is the hunting
season, west of thi Blue Ridge, there is an influx of hunters from Warren County. This not only hurts the hunting for the local hunters; it also has brought the game here to a dangerous JoW. He asked that this situation be reviewed, and steps taken to relieve it To change the date for the ending of the season, in order to alleviate this problem, would necessitate the petition of 100 interested persons and then consideration by the State Board. No action was taken, although the matter was discussed.
Other Business Discussed
H. B. Wood made a motion, seconded by A. C. Latham, that the Board go on record as approving the sales tax, now under consideration. The motion was carried, 5 to 1, Edward M. Estes’ vote being the only opposing.
