Let me thank you for the thoroughness with which you presented the views expressed at the meeting last Tuesday night held for the purpose of discussing the possibility of erecting our muchneeded County High School. As a citizen interested in the welfare of our county, I feel that your paper keeps us well informed and abreast of happenings in our county week by week.

Concerning the report of the meeting, however, I was quite puzzled over the caption, “Lack of Interest May Delay New Rappahannock County High School." Unless the number of people present be interpreted as an indication, which in the article was not so explained, there seems to be no statement, nor any part of the article that justifies the caption. As one of those present I was impressed that there was a,i rather lively interest in the project. This does not mean that it was not said, but I simply heard no one say that he or she was opposed to the erection of a new High School. No person in the assembly, no supervisor, no school board member opposed it, if memory is correct.

To be sure, there were differences of opinion as to the financing of the project, and as the article stated, the vote was 60 to 3 favoring an additional tax levy not to exceed 15c to help in this enterprise. But none of this could be consulted to mean there was a lack of interest.

I Sincerely believe that interest in improving our public school system in this way is wide-spread, and that the interest is increasing. And I further believe, until proved to the contrary, that the good people of Rappahannock County are interested enough since it undoubtedly means a vastly improved public school system for our county.
