Christian G. Schaefer
Graveside services were held in the Woodville Cemetery for Christian G. Schaefer of Sperryville on Saturday at 2 p.m. The Rev. John R. Frizzell Jr., * of the Episcopal Church Washington, Va., officiated at the last rites.
Mr. Schaefer, 75 years old, died at his home after a ten-day illness following several months of failing health. The deceased came to this country from Germany in 1893 with his family and settled in Vermont, later moving to Virginia, where he spent the last 45 years of his life.
Besides his wife, Nannie Clark Schaefer, he is survived by a son, Fred W., two daughters, Mrs. B. M. Varner of Sperryville, and Mrs. Maurice Manuel of Browntown. Two sisters, Mrs. Rudolph Strikler of Jericho, Vt. and Mrs. Max Linder of Underhill, Vt.
Pallbearers Were Dr. J. P.' Snead, James W. Fletcher, D. V. Chapman, Claude Beard, Thomas Leake, and G. M. Black.
