I think we nave lost some wonderful

I think we nave lost some wonderful teachers. Do you know why? Not beecause -they didn’t like Rappahannock, but because they couldn’t fight this serious situation any longer. They are in modem schools and are perfectly satisfied. They now have the room and equipment they needed. Couldn’t they have been satisfied in Rappahannock if Rappahannock had a decent,school? Do you remember iust this year what a time we had filling the many vacancies? Can’t von see why we had such a hard time getting teachers and then keeping them? Do you blame a teacher for not accapting a position here?

If other counties have good schools, why can’t we? Aren’t our people just as good and have as much ambition? Don’t we want our county to have a school we aren’t ashamed of? Don’t you want vour students to help lead our great country? As I said before, it can’t be done iu a school like this. We are so crowded in our classrooms we can’t leani the way we should, ■ and the teachers can’t teach us the way thev would like Can you blame a parent for sending his son or daughter to a better school ?

A new school won’t help me. I will not get to attend it. But I would like to see other students attend a better school.

When a salesman or stranger comes here, thev look horrified. I bet they' get a good picture of us. I wonder what they think and sav about our county: You -know this does reflect on the county. A school is an example of a countv. Is our example doing, us justice? I can’t think of a better way to make this example justified than bv beginning the fight for a nfw school.

I^et’s all work together and shrfw other people that we do have pride and we are living in the present, rather than the past.

When we begin the fight fdr a new school, let’s not let It die down as it did before, but accomplish what we all want and certainlv need. T feel sure that vou will have the help of even- student in this school, because we have longed for a decent ^school for many years.
