Future Homemakers
Meeting In
Winchester
The Daughters of the Star, Future Homemakers of America Federation held their annual Spring Meeting. Wednesday, May 18, at James Wood High School in Winchester. Approximately 40 girls and their advisors, representing Clarke, Loudoun, James Wood and Rappahannock High Schools attended the meeting.
In keeping with our theme, “International Good Will”, each school presented a sketch of the family life in a foreign country. Countries discussed included England-C 1 a r k e; Mexico-Loudoun ; Austria-James Wood; Denmark - Rappahannock.
Following the program, everyone enjoyed a buffet supper, which also carried out the theme. Each school group prepared a dish representing the country of their choice.
The installation of officers for 1960-61 concluded the program. They are as follows: Presdient, Karen Russell, James Wood; Vice Presid&t, Ellen Croson, Loudoun; Secretary, Charlene Gasch, Rappahannock; Reporter, Martha Ridings, James Wood; Song leader, Sue Many, Rappahannock; Pianist Barbara Sperry, James Wood. With this the meeting was adjourned.
