Minor Accidents On
County Roads
A Rappahannock County school bus over turned into a snow bank last Thursday afternoon near Slate Mills. Driven by Richard Jenkins, the vehcile skidded on the icy road. None of the eight children aboard were injured and the bus was not damaged.
Mrs. R. V. Snead of Washington, Va., driving a 1958 Chevrolet station wagon ran into a State Highway Department truck in the town of Washington Tuesday morning. The windshield of the Snead car was fogged from the coldjuid Mrs. Snead failed to see the truck ahead as she rounded a curve.
Mrs. T. C. Barron of Viewtown, driving a Pontiac station wagon and a Culpeper County school bus collided when they met on a gravel road where the snow had not been sufficiently pushed back to allow the large vehicles to pass. No injury resulted in either of these accidents.
4-H All Star Confer n-e
The first mid-winter conference of the 4-H All Star Organization and IFYE delegates was held January 28th and 29th at the Natural Bridge (Hotel, Natural Bridge.
One hundred and twenty-three All Stars attended the weekend conference, at which time state committees met. -- The group enjoyed a smorgasbord dinner followed by an informal dapee on Saturday night. Sunday morning a very inspiring mesy.sage was given by Rev. Leslie Giles former Big Chief of the All Star organization.
During- the business session of the Northern District All Star, Jack Sisk of Sperryville was elected Lesser Chief of the district group.
All Stars from Rappahannock who attended the conference were Jean Lillard, Judy Lillard, Anna Ruth Barnette, Jack Sisk, Glen Updike and Randall Updike.
