Don't you know,” she continued, “mother sent daddy to the store for somrcoal oil and molasses and Mr. Willy put the coal oil kithe lasses jug and lasses in the oil jug. Don’t cry, please don’t cry.”
The teacher couldn’t do any thing but laugh after that—and believe it pr not, the candy was fine, according to all the children,, and excellent, according to Cousin John Keyser, who came down from "Glen Erie” to take pictuies of the “little Mt. Salem School house” and all of the children on dosing day.
Former teachers of the little school, meeting each other in later years have enjoyed reminiscing about their experiences there. Only one story is told involving a “disciplining problem,” and that was, speaking literally and figuratively,
