John R. Woodward, Marshall farmer, this week announced his candidacy for the House oi Delegatees, representing Fauquier and Rappahannock Counties, subject to the July Democratic Primary.
Mr. Woodward said, as a farmer I am personally concerned with the problems of the farmers and businessmen in the District. Farming is the basis for our economy ; when the farmer prospers then the whole business economy prospers. I am aware of the problems of schools, employment, taxes, roads and production and marketing in agriculture confronting the* residents of Fauquier and Rappahannock Counties, and 1 earnestly solicit the support of every person who is interested in the future of our counties. If elected., I will, work for the needs and represent the wishes of all the people of my District.”
Mr. Woodward is 39 years old, and was reared at Clarendon Farm near Marshall, Fauquier County. He is the son of Clemma S. and the late Lambert E. Woodward. . He attended Orlean and Marshall Elementary Schools, was graduated from Marshall High School in 1939, and enlisted ih the Navy as an Aviation Cadet in 1942.
