Day after tomorrow—February 4.—one hundred years ago—February 4, 1861—.one of Rappahannock’s most loyal citizens was in Washington, D. C. at the old Willard Hotel to meet with lepresentatives of 21 states to try : nd find a way to “resolve the differences between the North and South and avert war:” The Peace Convention lasted 23 days. j •
