Northern Virgin a snow casualties include the Casanova (Hunt Point-to-Point, which had been scheduled to open tlie spring racing season Saturday, February 25.
Six-foot drifts melting on the rolling course have forced postponement of the meet to Sunday, April 16, Racing Secretary Robert E. Palmer has announced.
The six-race card will be run .the day after the Middleburg Races at Spring Hill Farm, home of Casanova’s Joint lyiFH, Charles H. Tompkins, Jr.
The program includes a flat race for juniors, open rice for gentlemen^ ladies race and three ownerrider events.
Feature of the afternoon is the Casanova Cup to be ridden by owners on horses that have been regularly and fairly hunted during the past season. The race wll count towards the Seven Corners Bowl to be awarded May 6 at the Virginia Gold Cup, Warrenton, to the horse accumulating the most points in similar j point-to-point races..
