Twenty Years Ago
Jn Rappahannock
February 22,1941
Foxhunten of “yesteryear1” kept up with each other j“from coast to coast”, but there was perhaps a closer personal tiej between the lovers of the chase in Virginia and Kentucky than therie was between foxhunters in any j of the ; other states.
Efcrly in 1941 the Editor of “The Chase”, a “full cry” of hunt-! ing published in Lexington, Kentucky, wrote a member of the Rappahannock Hunt urging the Hunt Club to celebrate George Washington’s birthday with an unusually “big hunt” and! to send “The Chase” an account |of it, as they were always interested in fox hunting stories and were particularly interested in a story from Washington, Virginia on Washington’s birthday.
