Garden Club Sees Slides
The Rappahannock Garden Club held its regular March meeting on Wednesday the 15th at 2 p.m. in the Episcopal Parish Hall, Washington, Va. with Mrs. J. L. Yowell as hostess.
Following the business meeting. Miss Annie Stephenson, program chairman, introduced Mr. R. L. (Jock) Brown, the speaker of the afternoon. Mr. Brown gave an interesting Travelogue of his trip in 1960 to the March Pilgrimage in Asheville, N. C., Natchez, Miss, and New Orleans. His talk was illustrated with colored slides of many of the fabulous homes and gardens in these cities of the “Old South.”
Exhibits included arrangements of wood mosses and early spring flowers. First award was given Mrs. Yowell and second went to Mrs. J. P. Cook.
The April meeting of the Garden Club will be held on Wednesday, April 19 at the home of Mrs. R. V. Snead, Washington.
