Wade M. Settle
Wade Middleton Settle of Washington, Va., a farmer and a veteran of World War I, died Monday, March 13, at the Veterans Administration Center in Martinsburg, West Virginia, following a brief illness.
Son of the late Midge Settle and Martha Whorton Settle, he was a native and lifelong resident of Rappahannock County. He was 67 years of age.
He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Emma Lee Eastham; five sons, Wade Franklin Settle of Flint Hill, Charles Middleton Settle, Cleveland Ashby Settle and Warren E. Settle, all of Washington, Va., and Robert E. Settle nf Front Royal; one daughter, Mrs. Robert'Whorton of Washington Va.; and twelve grandchildren.
Also surviving are three brothers, Luther Settle and Frank'Settle, both of Washington, Va. and Walter Settle of Front Royal; and four sisters, Mrs. Jessie Fincham, Mrs. Laura Scroggins, Mrs. Lillie Mae Scroggias and Miss Anr\ie Settle, all of Washington, Va.
Following a short prayer service in the Geest Funeral Chapel, a graveside service was held on Thursday, March 16 at thp Washington Masonic Cemetery, with Rev. William L. Jester, pastor of officiating. Full military honors were conferred by a detatchment from Vint iHiH Camp.
Pallbearers were Lewis Eastham, William Printz, Waverley Frazier, James Settle, Edward Scroggins, Wilton Settle, Carroll Settle and Edward Settle.
