Charlie Haney Rites
Funeral services were conducted Sunday at the Nethers Baptist Church for Charlie Haney who passed away October 5th. The Rev. R. L. Banks officiated.
He was a son of Evelyn Haney but was reared by his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Ned Haney at Peola Milk.
He leaves to mourn his wife, three sons and five grandchildren; four aunts and one uncle, Mrs. John Jackson, Caleadonia, N. Y., Mrs. Alice Washington, Harmony, Pa., Mrs. Nellie Clark, Schabble, Va., Mrs. Hattie Jackson, Spcrryville ’ arid John Haney of Peloa Mills.
Pvt. Dudley B. Freeman, 20, son of Mrs. Alice B. Porter of Washington, Va. and Lawrence Freeman of Philadelphia, Pa., has just completed eight weeks pf basic training at Fort Dix, NAJ. He has now been assigned to N Company, First Training Hegiment, Fort Dix.
Pvt. Freeman has returned to Fort Dix after spending a 14-day furlough in Plainfield, N. J. and with relatives and in Washington with his mother and sister, Mrs. Bessie Grimsley. Pvt. Freeman is a graduate of North Plainfield High School, North Plainfield, N. J.
