The week of October 15-21 has been designated by Governor J. Lirtdsay Almond as Virginia Natural Resources Conservation Week.
Governor Almond, proclaiming this observance, said: “The citizens of Virginia inhwited a land rich in natural resources. Through the years, the soils and waters, forests and wildlife of this State have yielded abundantly. ■"‘We cannot afford to misuse our soil, waste our water, or fail to protect and improve our forest and wildlife resources, lest we lose our heritage. The proper use and management of these resources is essential to the health, welfare and happiness of every citizen of this Commonwealth. Our food, fiber and shelter are products of these resources and our total wellbeing is dependent upon them.
