Army Specialist Five George T. Taylor, 29, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry T. Taylor, Huntly, VaM recently participated with other personnel from the Seventh U.S. Army Support Command in Checkmate, a NATO tactical training exercise conducted in Germany.
NATO troops from Great Britain, France, Germany and Belgium were involved in the exercise, which was designed to test joint combat operation procedures.
Specialist Taylor, an engineer equipment repairman in the command's 53rd Engineer Company in Dachau, entered the Army. in 1952 and arrived overseas in January 1958 on this tour of duty.
His' wife Ethel is with him in Germany. ‘
