Flint Hill Fire House
C. D. Storage Unit
The Flint Fire Department has very generously given permission for the use of the basement of their fire house for storage of food, water containers, etc. to be used in stocking public shelters. Delivery starts the latter part of this month or early in April. The state survival plan calls for public shelters in Rappahannock for at least 25% of the population. This plan also urges the building of family shelters stocked with water, food and first aid supplies The Federal Housing and IHome Finance Agency and the Veterans Administration will grant loans for family shelters in new construction or to alter or improve an existing property to include a fafmily fallout •shelter.
The local Civil' Defense office appeals to the citizens of Rappahannock to make an ernest and early effort to begin this work for their own protection and if a large part of the population engages in the survival plart, it will ensure the survival of our Government, our country, our very lives ' Capt.
