Jet is indeed a marvelous way to travel. It is almost unbelievable
to cruise at 575 miles an hour at an j altitude of 35,000 feet, yet there is no sensation of great speed except at take-off and landing when the speed is only 180 miles per hour for the former and 150 for the latter. 'Every service imaginable is available and food is being served constantly.
During a 14-hour flight 1 breakfast, 3 lunches, 1 dinner and tea were served. The most impressive luncheon started with champagne, seafood cocktail, rock Cornish Game hen stuffed with wild rice, peas potatoes, with chocolate eclair for dessert. This was due to flying with the direction of the sun therefore night didn’t arrive on time.
Our flight started in Baltimore in the pounding rain after I had frantically weeded enough out of my baggage to meet the weight requirements with being charged extra.
San Francisco is a city of supreme and exotic beauty, completely different from any of the cities along the east coast. It is a city of many interesting parts in an inspiring setting amidst sparkling waters and high hills.
