The re-enactmen of the Battle of Front Royal, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the battle on May 23, 1862, will be held Saturday, May 19, at 2 p.m. on the Town creek bottom below Bing Crosby Stadium.

Captain John M. Bracken, commanding officer of the reactivated Company B of Front Royal is director of the battle.

Between 300 and 400 members of reactivated Civil War companies are expected to take part in the re-enactment. Twenty-six com-1 panies from the North and South have accepted invitations to participate. The battle will be narrated by V. C. (Pat) Jones, author, historian and lecturer.
