Joseph T. Warren is a native of Fauquier County. He is the son of Mrs. Maysie H. Warren, of Alexandria and Delaplane, and was born at Delaplane on September 8, 1923. He was educated at Christchurch School and Virginia Military Institute.
Warren joined the Highway Department as a construction inspector in 1946 after service wit!h the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946. His studies had been interrupted for military service and he returned that year to VMI and in 1947 received his degree in civil engineering.
On returning to the department he worked in various branches.
In 1950 he was promoted to assistant resident engineer for the urban Fairfax residency; in 1952 to district engineering assistant for the Richmond highway district of 14 counties, and in 1954 to planning engineer in the secondary roads division for the entire state. ]
In 1956 he was made resident engineer for the Warrenton resi-i demy of Fauquier. Rappahannock and Prince William counties where he haS been charged with the maintenance, construction and administration of 1,004 miles of primary and secondary roads and 23 miles o'f Interstate 66 in Fauquier and Rappahannock counties, and 489 miles of primary and secondary and 23 miles of Interstate 66 and 95 in Prince William County. Rapidly-growing Prince William has since been made a separate residency, with headquarters at Manassas.
Warren is married to the former Ann Wallace Stover of Wayne, Pa., and they have two children, Joseph T., Jr., 15, and Mary Anne, 13. He is a member of the Episcopal Church and the local Lions Club, a former Jaycee, and is a captain in the U. S. Reserves.
