Transfer J. Warren
Four resident engineer promotions or transfers will be made by the State Highway Department following the retirement of W. C. Poston, of Amelia, on July 1. Transfers are made regularly by the road agency after six or eight years in one locality.
Poston would round out 40 years of service*with the Department on July 22. He started work: on that date in 1922 in the Staun*on highway district and through the 40 years has helped build the’ highway system into nine of the: highway residences or districts.
M. T. Thurstoq, Jr., who has been resident engineer at King George for the counties of Spotsylvania, Stafford and King George since 1956 will be transferred
J. T. Warren, resident engineer at Warrenton since 1956, will re/ place Thurston at King George/ In the King George residency he will have 33 miles of heavy interstate construction on 1-95 across Spotsylvania and Stafford counties, as well as 972 miles of primary and secondary roads in King George, Stafford and Spotsylvania counties.
D. S. Butler, resident engineer at Suffolk for Isle of Wight and Nansemond counties since 1956, will move to Warrenton to replace Warren. At Warrenton he will have 1,094 miles of primary and secondary in Fauquier and Rappahannock counties and eventually about 20 miles of interstate construction on 1-66 across Fauquier County.

On May 21, Mr. Stephenson of Front Royal will show slides on the Belgium Congo, emphasizing the missions there. The slides will be shown at Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church. SperryGlle, at 7 :30 p.m. The public is invited.
