A pedestrian casualty and three single car accidents occurred in the last few days on Rappahannock County highways.
John Gatewood, a colored youth, was struck by an automobile on Route 211 near Washington, Va. Monday afternoon. The child started to cross the highway, but turned back when he saw the oncoming vehicle, which slowed when the driver, an unidentified woman, saw the youngster. The driver of the car started on again as the boy drew back from the road and at that moment, he turned and started across the road, stepping in front of the now moving vehicle.
