Mi* Lelia Taylor Gentry, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William A. Gentry of Flint Hill, and Dr. Thomas Marvin Scott, son of Mrs. William Thomas Scott and the late Mr. Scott of Washington, D. C. were married Thursday, June 7 at eleven o’clock in the morning in the Flint Hill Methodist Church. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. John Coffey, dirtctor of Wesley Foundation at Virginia Polytechnic Institute, Blacksburg, Va. The immediate families attendedThe
church was decorated with white hydrangea and white candles.
Mrs. Paul Miller, church organist played ^Finlandia, Sibelius, for the processional and Hymn of Joy, Beethovei) for the recessional.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a gown of white eyelet batiste over pale blue taffeta, basque style with bouffant street length skirt, long pointed sleeves and a v-neck. Her fingertip veil of nylon tulle was caught on a white velvet bandeau with lily of the valley. She carried a nosegay of white rose buds.
Matron of honor was Mrs. A. C. Dodson of Staunton, sister of the bride, who wore a pastel blue crystal sheer grown with a shirred bodice and flared skirt. Her headpiece matched her dress and she carried a nosegay of pink margarites.
Best man for his brother was Dr. William McLean Scott of Wayne State University, Detroit, Mich.
A luncheon and reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents.
