Fee For Operator’s
License In Virginia
Increases June 29
The cost of obtaining a Virginia driver’s license will be increased effective June 29, Commissioner of Motor Vehicles, C. H. Lamb announced today. Licenses issued on and after that date will cost the individual applicant $2.00 for an operator’s license and $3.00 for a chauffeur’s license, Mr. Lamb said. v ' |
The recent session of the Gerfr| eral Assembly enacted legislation I providing for this increase and dii rected that’ the additional funds I thus collecftd be set aside to assist ] in the financing of driver educaI tion programs i-rt the Virginia pubI lie school system, Lamb explained. 1 The public can be of great assistI ance by submitting the proper fee | with their applications and undue j delay and inconvenience to the in|
dividual applicant can be avoided if each license application is accompanied by a correct remittance. Despite this increase, Virginia re1 mains one of the lower priced driv1 ing license states.
