Mrs. Charles H. Estes of Sperryville was the recipient of the greatly coveted tri-color award of-: fered at the Rappahannock Garden Club Flower Show which was held Friday at the parish hall in Washin gton, Va. Mrs. E. M. Jones was awarded the equally impressive sweepstakes. Her arrangement of vegetables, including cabbage and lettuce leaves, green grapes, asparagus spears and red cherries was very unique.
The theme of the show was, “A Gallery of Floral Art, and the exhibitors did, indeed paint charming pictures with flowers to carry out the schedule. Winners were as follows:
Class I - Modern Art: 1-Mrs. C. H. Estes; 2- Mrs. E. M. Jones; 3- Mrs. J. L. Yowell.
Class II - Classic Art; 1- Mrs. L. J. Turner; 2- Mrs. S. E. Hening; 3- Mrs. C. H. Estes; 4- Mrs. George H. Davis, Jr.
Class III! - Still Life: 1- Mrs. E. M. Jones; 2- Mrs. S. E. Hening; 3- Mrs. C. H. Estes.
Class IV - Comic Art: 1- Robert Estes; 2- Mrs. E. M. Jones; 3- Mrs. S. E. IHening.
