Town Water Supply
Condemned
L. O. Fears, M.D., Health Director of Rappahannock County, issued a notice today to this effect: “Notice is hereby given to all users of water furnished by the Washington public water supply, to boil all drinking water and water used for culinary purposes. The water "i 'piy is considered unsafe for conrsumption unless boiled for fifteen minutes.
“This notice shall remain in effect until local health officials advise otherwise."
The dorinator for the town water supply is broken and the repairman is supposed to fix it tomorrow.
Chester Gap Carnival
Very Successful.
Last Saturday night, Chester Gap completed its second annual Firemen’s Carnival. It was very .well attended with an exceptionally large crowd enjoying the nearly perfect weather and the new carnival grounds on Saturday.
The Carnival Queen Contest was won by Miss Mattie Williams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cary Williams. Runner-up was Miss Frances Williams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert R. Williams. Other attendants on the reI viewing stand were Misses Linda Dulin and Elsie Pullen. A truly beautiful jeweled crown, gift of Wall Jewelry Co. in Front Royal, was presented the queen bv Mr. Rufus Wall.
