Beckwith Dies
Henry Brown Beckwith of
Washington, Va., died Thursday, June 29, at his residence, following an extended illness. Son of the late Robert Beckwith and Alice Grigsby, his wife, and a native of Rappahannock County, he was 70. His wife, Mrs. Bessie Lawson Beckwith, died in 1920.
He is survived by one son, Robert D. Beckwith of Culpeper; one daughter, Mrs. Alice Porter of Washington, Va.; nine grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mildred) Holmes of Elizabeth. N. J.; and; one brother, Ernest Beckwith of ; Washington, Va.
A funeral service was held Sunday. July 1, from Promised Land j Jlaptist Church, Smedlev, with interment following in the Beck1 with family cemetery.
Pallbearers were George Ficklin, James Carter, Maury Williams, David Chinn, John Sim-1 mons and Clarence Dealing.
The Hopewell Baptist Sunday School at Sperryville is having visiting Sunday July 8 at 10 a.m. Miss .Maggie Jackson is the guest speaker. All Sunday schools are invited.
