4-H Boys Study Forestry
Four young 4-H boys recently took to the woods to gain more first hand knowledge about trees in connection with a project in forestry they are taking. The boys hiked through the woods on Jessamine Hill Farm near Washington with Assistant County Agent Arlis Frymyer where they identified trees by their bark, leaves, smell, taste, fruit or flower. The youngsters had been studying forestry in their regular 4-H Club meetings. They took a mid-hike break for lunch which they carried with them, then completed the day working on the project. Those attending were James Stringfellow, Billy Payne, Billy Dodson and John Henry Williams.
