Driver Training
At R.CRS.
Driver Training, including behind-the-wheel practice, is being offered to students at the Rappahannock County High School during this school year. The program will follow the plan as outlined by the State Board of Education for the high schools of the State. It includes classroom instruction, of 36 hours, and a minimum of 7 hours per pupil of actual, driving experience preceded by 7 hours observation time in an approved driver training car. Both of these phases of instruction must be taught by a qualified teacher who has been certified by the State Department of Education in Driver Training.
At Rappahannock County High School, Mr. Larry Bolyard is a certified teacher in driver education. During the first semester, ninth grade ,boys are being taught the class'room phase two days each week as a part of the regular .health and physical education program. The ninth grade girls will be taught on a similar schedule during the second semester.
