pleted satisfactorily the class instruction and have parental permission. This insturction will be offered after school hours and on Saturdays. Practice driving will be offered the girls during the summer months as well as to those boys who did not have an opportunity during the school term. Approximately 66 pupils are enrolled in the 9th grade and are involved in this instructioa This grade was selected for the program since it includes pupils who are approaching driving age and will be seeking learner permits. Experience in other areas indicates a less successful program when of-: fered to students who holdpet mits and already drive. The State Legislature will assist Rappahannock in conducing the practice driving phase but a tuition charge will be necessary to supplement this assistance. The tuition cannot exceed $15 per pupil.

The Rappahannock County Farm Bureau has assisted in making this program possible for the youth of the County through scholarship
