Rappahannock National Bank has joined with other Virginia banks in nationwide support of 4-H Club work through a contribution to the National 4-H Club Foundation of Washington, D.C., announced C. Jackson Miller, cashier. Rappahannock National Bank believes that the 4-H Foundation provides an excellent opportunity to broaden its traditionally strong support of the local and state 4-H movement. Leadership for the Virginia participation came from Edward Carter Turner, Assistant Cashier of Culpeper National Bank.
The National 4-H Club Foundation complements the work of the Cooperative Extension Service through citicenship education, leader training, international 4-H programs, and program development and research. This includes operating National 4-H Center, conducting the International Farm Youth Exchange (IFYE), and operating the 4-H Peace Corps projects in Brazel, Venezuela, and Uruguay.
Virginia is well represented in the Foundation’s programs this year, said the new bank chairman. Two participants in the IFYE programs'^ winter delegation are Virginians— ThOrtfis ’Th ’CPffman of StnefiV will go to Uruguay and Miss Call Lush of Amelia will visit New Zealand. Income Tax Conference
The Agricultural Economics Extension group of Virginia Tech, is again sponsoring two work conferences at which the proper filing of income and social security tax returns will be discussed. These conferences will be for persons assisting farmers and other businesses in filing correct returns.
The most convenient confer|ence for such individuals of ^Rappahannock will be held December 9--llth in the John Marshall Hotel, Richmond.
One copy of the program has been received at the office of W. H. Lyne, County Agent, and is available for those concerned to look over.
