Ironing a shirt can take 15 to 20 minutes .. or it can take less than five minutes. It all depends on whether or not you’ve found the easy way to do the task. Of course, says Miss Amelia Fuller, home economist at Virginia Polytechnic Institute, some shirts are easier to iron than others. Pleated sport backs, for example, may be more difficult to handle. Well designed collars and cuffs with a permanent finish will make ironing easier and cut time at the ironing board. If you are comfortable when you iron you can work faster. To be comfortable, you need an ironing board which you can adjust to a comfortable height. Many women can sit and iron with ease. To do this, you need a chair that fits your back and of a height which allows you to sit comfortably with both feet firmly on the floor. A light weight steam iron simplifies ironing. You don’t have to use pressure. Move the iron slowly over the ma1a.
