Culpeper Spring

Horse Show Saturday

The Annual Culpeper Spring Horse Show, sponsored by the Culpeper County 4-H Horse and Pony Club, will be held at the Agricultural Enterprises, four and a half miles south of Culpeper on Route 29, Saturday May 8, 1965 at 10:00 Eastern Standard Time. In the event of rain, the show will be postponed until May 15, 1965. Proceeds from this show will be used to build a permanent show ring and to further the development of the Horse Program in Culpeper County and surrounding areas. As in the past, this show will be open to all entries and is made up of twenty two classes which are divided into English, Western and miscellaneous df visions. The English Division will include Working Hunters, and Small and Large Pony Hunters. Each of the divisions will have stake classes. Entry fees will be $L00 per class except stake classes which will have an entry fee of $3.00. Cash prizes will be awarded in the stake classes. In addition to this spring show the Culpeper 4-H Horse and Pony club also sponsors another open show in the fall.

Carnival Queen Contest

Sponsored by Chester Gap

Chester Gap firemen will sponsor a Queen Contest in connection with their annual fund raising carnival to be held the first of July. The firemen announce that girls in this vicinity from 10 years of age or older are eligible to enter the contest. Those who are interested in the contest are requested to contact Mrs. Hubie Gilkey at Chester Gap or call 635-5472.
