These are your children, which must cross this street to get to the athletic field to play, who run after a hit ball, who follow a dog into the street. Assuming that the truck driver is paid on a per-load basis, the short distance of the school zone should not jeopard ize his means of livelihood. Why have the signs alerting drivers of School Zones, unless we are sincere in the need to “Expect the Unexpected*. Must some blood be shed to cause us to rise up and act. If so, then that late action will only help those children who are still playing in the school yard....not the loser of the I blood. The child who loses blood will have provided the sacrifice!
