Coppage Named Dir.
Handicap Commission
William T. Coppage, 35, was named director of the Virginia Commission for the Visually Handicapped yesterday. The commission selected Coppage to succeed Dr. D. C. McFarland, who last fall was named chief of services to the blind of the Department of Health, Education and Welfare in Washington. Coppage has served as acting director on a probationary status. He had been Dr. McFarland’s assistant since 196 L Coppage who lives in Richmond with his wife and three children is the son of Mrs. Emma Coppage of Richmond, formerly of Flint Hill and the late Alvin Coppage and the nephew of Mrs. J. P. Cook of Flint Hill.
