Honey Eating Bear

Killed Near Here

A 300-pound male bear was shot Friday afternoon by George William Beahm in Gid Brown Hollow near Washington. Mr. Beahm discovered the animal taking honey from his beehives. In two or three visits bruin had done about $75 damage to the hives, supers and honey, and the evidence was right there. When shot, the bear still had honey on his face from previous visits. Area Game,Warden J. W. Simpson investigated the incident. Even though a bear or other animal may be killed when doing damage to personal property, it still must be reported and turned over to game authorities.
