At Height This Week
’ Indications are that the most Varied and brilliant color of autumn will appear on the mountain slopes of Shenandoah National Park during the current week, Superintendent R. Taylor Hoskins reported today.
The past weekend was not disappointing to those whb chose the occasion to view the annual color parade from the 105-mile Skyline Drive, according to Hoskins, who said that more than 41,000 visits were recorded during the twoday period. The upcoming weekend of October 15-16 is expected to be one of heavy travel, thus Hoskins suggested that those are able to do so make their Visitation during the week if they desire a more leisurely and less congested trip along the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
