(Min. 35), Best Pumper over 500 Gals., Best Purqper 500 Gals, and under, Best Aerial Ladder or Platform, with 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in each category; Best Appearing Ladies Auxiliary; Oldest piece of fire fighting equipment; and Fire Company coming longest distance and bringing motorized fire fighting equipment. There are two categories for bands in the Firemen’s parade, namely, "Best Band up through 60 pieces* and “Best Band of 61 pieces and up,” with 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in each category. Also to be chosen are “Best Drum & Bugle corps,* with 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, and "Best Drum Major,* "Best Drum Majorette” and “Best Majorette group (must be an integral part of a band).* As in past years, the Honorary Out-of-Town Fire Chief contest will again be a preparade event for visiting fire companies. It will be held, beginning, at 3:30 p. m., on May 4, at the Plaza Theatre (Ward Plaza1), 2266 Valley Ave, All fire companies coming to :he parade have been invited to send a young lady representing the company to take part in the beauty contest. The Apple Blossom Firemen’s parade has long been recognized as the largest event of its kind in the country.
