New dial-automatic switchboards and related telephone equipment for customers in Virginia will cost Virginia T & T over $240,000 during 1967. The largest installation, costing $75,000 will be for the state of Virginia in Charlottesville. Other major instal lations include equipment cost ing $50,000 at Longwood State College, $40,000 at Virginia Military Institute and $17,800 for customers in Front Royal and Luray. $564,200 will be spent in the Northern Virginia District including the $17,800 for new dial-automatic switchboards. The Front Royal budget includes $62,000 to extend cable North of Front Royal to provide relief which will be needed for additional services. Cej*' tain sections of this cable will be put underground. $50,900 will be spent to add cable on Route 522 South to provide relief and to meet the projected growth due to new services in this area. The Happy Creek - Howelisville area which is growing rapidly has a budget of $46,700 for buried cable to provide facilities.
In the Washington, Virginia exchange, central office equipment additions will amount to $20,500. The balance of the Northern Virginia budget will be spent in the LAiray, Stanley andShen andoah exchanges.
