Sgt. Kritz Dies in
Viet Nam Action
Sgt. Eugene Richard Kritz, USMC died April 11,1967 in the vicinity of Thua Thien, Viet Nam while in combat. His wife, Mrs. Betty Tapp Kritz and three children live with her parents Mr. and Mrs. John A. Tapp at Amissville. Sgt. Kritz, who was 30 years old, had served 13 years with the Marine Corps. He left the States August 7 for overseas duty with M Company, 3rd Batallion, 26th Marines, Fifth Marine Division. He was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin and was the son of Mrs. Jeannette Kurriger and the late Louis M. Kritz. Sgt.' and Mrs. Kritz were married May 6, 1962 , and they have three children, Sheri 4 years old, Eugenia, 2, and Brian, 6 months. Other survivors are three brothers, Louis A. Kritz of Milwaukee, Wis., Martin C. Kritz, West Bend, Wise, and S/Sgt. Leonard K. Kritz, USMC, Camp LeJeune, N. C. who has recently completed 13 months duty in Viet Nam; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Lou McKee of Kewaskum, Wis. and Mrs. Vivian Olin, Milwaukee, Wis. A funeral service will be held today Thursday at 2 p.m. at Fort Myer Chaplain with interment in Arlington Cemetery.
Fire Association To Meet
A meeting of the Rappahannock County Volunteer Firemen’s Association will be held Friday night, April 21 at the Flint Hill fire hall beginning at 7;30 p.m. A11 members and interested firemen are furged to attend.
