Spelling Bee Entries

A Northern Virginia Pied-, mont Area Spelling Bee will be held Saturday, May 6, 1967 at the Ann Wingfield Junior High School, Culpeper, Va. beginning at 10 a.m. , Participating in the contest will be students from Culpeper Orange, Fauquier, Rappahannock and Madison Counties. Each county will be allowed six contending spellers* and; three alternates. Representing Rappahannock County will be Lois Yates, | eighth grade, Rappahannock County High School; Drucilla: Davis, grade six, Washington! Elementary; Charla Sisk, grade six, SperryVille Ele-i mentary; Mauri Raney, sixth, grade, Washington Elementary; Barbara Durden andj Janet Payne, both seventh! graders at Sperryville Elementary School. Alternates are David Cordle grade eight, Rappahannock County High School; Douglas Larimer, sixth grade, Washington Elementary; Rose Dennis, grade six, Washington Ele mentary School. Competition has been conducted in each of the local schools with a spell-off to de cide those contenders for the Culpeper Contest which is sponsored by the Culpeper Star-Exponent.
