I Byrd Shelter Dedication In Park June 10
Prorpinent State and Federal officials will participate in the dedication of the Harry F. Byrd, Sr., Visitor Center in Shenandoah National Park on June 10, Superintendent R. Taylor Hoskins reported today Governor Mills E. Godwin, Jr., will deliver the dedicatory address. He will be introduced by Director George B. Hartzog, Jr., of the National Park Service. Other participants will include United States Sqna tor Harry F. Byrd, Jr., of Virginia, Virginia House of Delegates Speaker E. Blackjburn Moore, and Conrad L. 1 wirth, former Director of the National Park Service and now a conservation consultant to the Laurance S. Rockefeller family. Hoskins said the program, to which the public is invited, : will begin at 3:00 p.m. j(F.DT), in front of the Visitor Center in the Big Meadows area of the Park. The site is I at M ilepost 51 on Skyline Drive i which follows the crest of the I Blue Ridge Mountains through tout the length of the Park. ; The Visitor Center is being dedicated in memory of Harry F. Byrd, Sr., former Governor of Virginia and United States I Senator representing the Com monwealth.
