According to Allan Kates," Weed Control Specialist, Vi? ginia Tech Extension Service Linuron (Lorox) has given good control of nutgrass in corn. Also this chemical will control most annuals, both broad leaf and grasses. Use two pounds active ingre dient, plus one pint of liquid wetting agent per 30 gallons of water per acre. Apply as a directed spray when corn is at least 15 inches tall and weeds not more than 8 inches tall. Foliar burn of corn results from contact by the spray. Use the type netting agent sug gested by the manufacturer. DO not spray over the top of corn because severe injury or kill will occur. Control of weeds under drought stress or over 8 inches tall is usual ly impractical. Do not use on loamy sand or 6and as crop injury may result. Use coarse SDrav to prevent drift to sus ceptible plants. Do not plant to other crops within four months after treatment.
